Went for a bottomless brunch vibe experience on a Saturday afternoon. The total cost was about 60-70 per person, for a three course meal (which actually had lots of different dishes for the whole table to try) and unlimited beer and wine. All the food was amazing and pleasantly surprised us. Portion sizes were good, we were not left wanting - everyone was full at the end (my pictures do not do justice). I would highly recommend this type of meal if you are going with a decent sized group (we were 8) and want to drink a fair amount.

In summary, nice restaurant, tasteful decor, polite staffs, good food but overpriced. It came to around 120 pounds for a 3 course lunch for 2. Sure the food was good but not 120 pounds good, we were very full up though so the portions were generous but surely there are alternatives where they offer similar food but more competitive pricing. Hard to recommend due to price.

An absolutely amazing find in Mayfair. A lovely restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere - not to small or too large, it creates an ambience which is relaxed and enjoyable. The menu is wonderful - some really lovely and novel indian dishes which will surprise and delight. Every dish on the menu has its own distinct flavours and character. The quality of the ingredients is apparent - for example the meats are of the highest quality and melt in the mouth. There is a wide variety of choice and something for everyone to enjoy. The service was second to none when we visited - not too intrusive, but relaxed and helpful staff only too happy to help and to explain anything about the dishes. We visited for my wife's birthday and they arranged a special desert for us all as a result. Totally unexpected and a lovely surprise. It is not cheap, but if you are booking to come here you know that at the outset. The important thing is whether it is value for money - and I would say it most certainly is good vaue for money. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and we will definitely return again.

Went to this place for a Sunday brunch on Christmas eve. They had a set menu with 8 starters, 1 shared main and desert. We had bought vouchers for this set menu brunch via timeout. Entering this place, it gives the vibe of a fine dining place. We were asked to select the mains and then were told that the starters will start arriving. First came 4 veg starters in an traditional Indian style dabba. Looking at the quantity, we felt like we'll have to go out and eat something else at the end of the meal. The paneer on puff pastry was very good. The samosa chaat and broccoli were quite good as well. The corn chaat was ok. Then came the non veg starters. The fish and fried chicken were good. The mutton take on bun maska was good as well. The chicken kebab was ok. Then came the shared main. They offer options of any one of 4 curries or a biryani. All come with rice, raita, naan and kaali daal. We opted for the biryani. This also came with the 4 sides. But serving rice and naan with biryani felt like an overkill. They should offer something else as sides with the biryani... The biryani was ok. Didn't feel like a traditional biryani... The kaali daal and naan were good. By this time we were too full and couldn't finish the mains. Not sure how they managed to get us so full😅. Then came the deserts. For desserts, they offer a trio of a chocolate choux, carrot halwa and a sweetened curd. We don't like curd so told them to serve only the other two. The carrot halwa was good and the chocolate choux was yummy. Throughout our meal, the service was exceptional. Overall, the food was good and we had a good time.

Now, Kanishka isn't exactly cavernous. Think of it as a cozy jewel box where the food shines brighter than the cutlery (which, let's be honest, is saying something). And guess what? The Big Kahuna himself, Atul, was there, greeting guests like a Bollywood movie star welcoming his disciples. Talk about VIP treatment! We dove into the lunch menu, eager to conquer culinary Everest. The samosa chaat was a symphony of textures and flavors, like a Bollywood dance number starring crispy pastry, tangy chutney, and chickpeas doing the Macarena. The lamb seekh kebab was so tender, it practically surrendered to my fork. And the butter chicken? Let's just say it was buttery, it was chickeny, it was everything a butter chicken should be and more. Okay, now for the "constructive criticism" bit (because every good review needs a spoonful of reality, right?). The black chickpea dish, bless its little heart, just didn't quite hit the high notes. It was like the awkward middle child at a family reunion – everyone else is dazzling, and it's just trying not to trip over the tablecloth. But here's the thing: the menu is vast and tempting, a veritable smorgasbord of Indian delights. So, while my chickpea friend might've needed a pep talk, there are bound to be other dishes that sing like Pavarotti on a particularly good day. Overall, Kanishka is a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It's got the star power, the deliciousness, and the ambience to make it a Mayfair hotspot.

It’s a nice venue, with food to match. Thoughtful menu with nice twists on your typical curry classics. Had the set menu which was well balanced and flavoursome, alas, salty. Service was prompt yet impersonal.

Visiting for the 5 course tasting menu which was a birthday gift. Overall, a really nice visit and quality food but not life changing. I have had better food for cheaper. We were served by Roshan and Deevaj (sorry if I got your names wrong) who gave top quality service to us. Friendly staff and knowledgeable on the dishes being served. Nice quiet atmosphere as we arrived just at opening time for lunch. The tasting menu overall was good. The highlights for us were the chukundur aur feta (beetroot dumpling), signature chicken tikka pie and the Varanasi custard apple rabdi. The actual curries served were acceptable but nothing special. Another comment calls out that they would find it hard to tell apart from a typical British Indian restaurant style curry and I kind of agree. It was good.. but that was it.. nothing mind blowing. Price, as expected is on the higher end. Even with a 5 course voucher we still ended up spending about £70 just on a few extras like a couple of soft drinks, 1 cocktail a roti and a garlic naan. Overall this was a good experience and decent food but you can get better food at a lower price point in my opinion if you're seeking value for money.

This was an alright experience from what is supposed to be a restaurant ran by the world's first Indian Michelin starred chef. Cards on the table I didn't pay much for this meal due to a voucher but I am writing the majority of this review on the basis that I would have paid full buck. We redeemed a voucher because I would rarely spend £80 on a 5 course tasting menu. If you do come here with a voucher, please beware that sparkling water is an eye watering £6, poppadoms are £6 and naan is supplementary which the waiting staff did not mention. It is on the menu but in the haste of ordering we didn't notice and the staff never advised. Also to note is that service charge is added post voucher so prepare to pay a whopping 15% of the bill which as minimum would be £157. Food wise, the 5 course tasting menu we had was good. However, it was missing an Amuse Bouche and a pallet cleanser / sorbet between the last starter course and main course. This in my view should feature in any tasting menu featuring in a restaurant of this calibre. All courses were savoured and enjoyed but because we weren't advised regarding the naans, we had our curry with just the saffron rice. Nevermind. 1 course - beetroot and feta - 6/10 2nd course - fish - 10/10 (by far the best bit of the meal) 3rd course - pie - 5/10 (didn't work for me, the crust was too.. English? And the filling was too dry) 4th Course - curry - 3/10 (I wouldn't have been able to tell if this was my local anglicised curry house or something from Kanishka, that and the lack of naan ruined this course for me) 5th Course - kulfi - 7/10 (an actual proper indian dessert that wasn't garbage) Service wasn't anything amazing. For the price you pay, you expect staff with more charisma, not just body's in nice outfits. We were often interrupted whilst eating to ask how our food was which is a tactic I abhor. Leave us to our food and ask at the end of the meal please. It felt very robotic, there was no heart or soul in this place. Overall, if you want a tasting menu experience to remember, don't go here. I could say much more but this review is just boring me. Hope it doesn't bore you too!
